Skate Nation – Coming Soon To CBBC

Coming to CBBC this summer is Skate Nation, a new 11-part competition show for roller skaters and in-line skaters.  Hosted by Sam Nixon and Mark Rhodes, the series will put 14 teams, each with 4 members (three children between 7 and 13 and one adult), against each other in tests that will test their fitness, agility and skating talent.

The contest comprises of 3 parts.  The first part will test the individuals abilties as well as their teamwork.  The second part will see the teams fighting for one of ten places at Skate Camp which gives them opportunities to be tutored by top skating coaches and choreographers.  After the camp, the teams move to the Skate Stadium, where they must learn and perform increasinly complex routines to wow the judges.  The grand prize of the whole contest is a trip to see the best skaters at the World Games in Taiwan.

The aim of the show is not only to provide a fun and exciting format, but also to encourage young people to take up more exercise.
