The weather is turning colder, the trees are bare of leaves and the birds have all flown south. It can only mean one thing – winter is here! As each season comes around the gang from CBeebies like to furnish us with a new song all about the time of year. This winter is no exception!
The “Winter Song” (as it has come to be called) has had a particularly unfavourable reaction. The general consensus is that it is rushed and badly written. What do you think? Watch the video below and tell us if you like it or not!

Don’t like it at all! My kids have always loved the cbeebies songs (I have to search for them on YouTube every day), but this one is dreary and boring. Did ex-presenter Chris used to write the songs for them? Because none of the songs have been any good since he left!
I think it’s shockingly bad compared to their other songs throughout the year, especially the lovely autumn one. It looks like they either had their original budget slashed to £10, or filmed a great one and someone deleted the footage so they had an hour to film something new! Why couldn’t they go somewhere like a snow dome instead of canary wharf in summer! And how does riding in a hot air balloon represent winter? Really poor show Cbeebies.
i think it not a very good tune compared to the othng ers but my daughter loves it she dances and copies the actions but her favorite one is the summer song 2009 she even wakes up when that comes on
Wow…my little one Jack cannot turn it off! We have to play it over and over again!! Not sure of the lyrics yet, looking as we speak as some of them seem hard to translate, but must be catchy as myself and my wife still have the tune in our heads when we get into bed at night!
My 9 month Joshua instantly starts clapping and bouncing when he hears this. I personally love the waves of vocal harmonies and appreciate the modern rhythms. We are new to cbeebies so can’t comment on the previous material, sorry be have been learning Spanish with Handy Manny! Shock!
We are now quite devoted to Cbeebies!
My Lil one loves it. The video isn’t the greatest but the drum and bass tune and the vocal melodies make it.
i think the music is catchy but the lyrics and video are terrible.
they could have gone to a snowdome for the day instead of cheating with visuals.
my daughter seems to like it but she likes any music on tv.
i hope they improve with the new year, as my daughter has cbeebies on most of the day!
i see common sense has won through, last years “winter winter” song was on this morning, it actually feel like a winter song unlike that other rubbish with its fake snow and sunshine!!! it must have been filmed in july!!
Yeah i hate it… I think they’ve realised it aswel as they hardly show it and have started showing the one with justin as a snowman and the christmas rap instead.

what do people expect from cbeebies? mozart-like swathes of musical genius coupled with soul-searching and heart-wrenching lyrics?
this tune is proper catchy. my kids rock when this comes on. and methinks it was recorded on the south bank between waterloo and the millennium bridge.

My daughter loves the winter song! We always do the dance together and it puts a big smile on her face. The autumn song was fantastic as well but we all love this one too. Very catchy number and dance moves are nice and easy to follow. Big thumbs up to Cbeebies!

Well, my little boy George is just transfixed by this song. He is only 10 months old but rocks and croons to it. It is just wonderful to watch! Cbeebies has definitely got it right as far as our household is concerned!
its ok its good for the children but they turn into games and thats the bad part of it.
My wife and I hate it. But then my 2.5 year old loves it. So what is good for us adults is not so good for the kids. It’s only a happy song in the end. what does it matter what they do so long as it’s innocent and gets the kids dancing and singing.
It never fails to make my daughter smile and bounce around:)
Have to agree with most of you, it simply is not anywhere close to the usual great standard we have come to expect of these songs – in fact it is totally rubbish. Quite agree it looks as if the Beeb had run out of money on the job. Surely when the BBC know it is such a popular item, they could at least continue with the good thing they had? The Autumn one was the best yet, really feel good, uplifting, very memorable, great song and just a visual feast, but the winter one is drab, dull, lifeless, it all just looks and feels grey. 0 out of 10 from us.

My 18 months old son just loves it. He would stop whatever he’s doing when he hears it and come running to the TV room.
