Charlie & Lola DVD 11 – Review
Although Charlie and Lola has been a staple on CBeebies since 2005, it has only become a favourite in our house since the beginning of the year as our son got older. It is easy to see how Lauren Child’s characters have become so popular – her realistic and humourous stories often strike a chord with adults as well as children.
The BBC released the eleventh Charlie and Lola DVD last month (and coincides with the release of the Series 3 Box Set) and contains 9 episodes:
- I am Goody the Good
- What can I wear for Halloween
- But we always do it like this
- I am going to save a panda
- I slightly want to go home
- Do not ever never let go
- Autumn Special – Everything is different and not the same
- I would like to actually keep it
- But I don’t really like this present
As we’ve come to expect, the stories are excellent, just like the animation. The artwork of Lauren Child’s original books is well preserved with a mixture of 2D animation, real textures and archive video footage. The Halloween episode was very popular in our house because of the time of year (even if it was a tiny bit scary for some).
I would thoroughly recommend this as a great Christmas purchase for any Charlie & Lola fan. Don’t just take my word for it – check out these great clips from the DVD.
